Rooted in Hope: Help Cajun Deb
When someone you love is diagnosed with a rare and life-altering condition, you quickly learn the power of community, creativity, and the courage it takes to keep moving forward. For us, that someone is Debra Savioe, aka Cajun Deb — a bold, funny, big-hearted Cajun woman with more fight in her pinky than most people have in their whole body.
Now, Cajun Deb is facing down myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) — a rare blood cancer that affects bone marrow and the body's ability to produce healthy blood cells. It’s a disease that brings fatigue, hospital visits, and uncertainty — but also moments of deep connection, stubborn strength, and unexpected love.
And so, Team Debra was born.
🎗️ More Than a Shirt — A Symbol of Support
At first, the idea was simple: make a T-shirt or two to help raise awareness and put a smile on Deb’s face. But it quickly grew into something much bigger — a full-on movement of love, resilience, and Cajun-flavored grit.
We started designing a variety of shirts and gear that reflect Deb’s fight and her fierce spirit — and something surprising happened. These shirts became conversation starters, sources of comfort, and visible signs of solidarity.
Each item includes the custom CAJUN DEB TEAM logo. It’s clean. It’s powerful. And it’s personal.
🌸 Say It With Sass and Strength
We didn’t stop there. Our designs range from serious to silly — because cancer may be brutal, but Debra’s sense of humor and resilience are legendary.
Some of our current favorites:
-
“I’m Rooting for Debra” – with blooming flowers and roots symbolizing her strength and the support around her.
-
“Rooted in Hope” – a stately tree with deep roots and a red & white ribbon at its center.
-
“Kickin’ Cancer’s Ass” – featuring a donkey with attitude (because Debra doesn’t back down).
-
“Ducks for Debra” – yes, even Jeep ducks are in on the fight! Custom red & white ducks are being worn or left on Jeeps across the South to spread the message.
We’re even creating more items such as stickers, decals, and fundraising items — all to raise funds for Deb's medical expenses, travel, and treatments.
🤝 How You Can Help

Every shirt, sticker, duck, and share helps remind Debra (and others fighting MDS and other cancers) that they are not alone.
💬 Why It Matters
Myelodysplastic syndrome is not a well-known condition, and that’s exactly why awareness is so crucial. The more we talk about it, the more we learn, and the more support we can offer others going through it.
Team Debra isn’t just a support system. It’s a movement. A reminder that strength doesn’t always come with a loud roar — sometimes it is a petite, fiesty Cajun woman. And sometimes...it shows up in soft cotton, hats, or ducks but always with a whole lot of love.
🌟 Join the Fight. Stand with Debra.
Because when one Cajun woman fights, a whole community shows up to root for her.
